Creative Kids Counseling
Minnie Zammit:
I am a Counsellor, Creative Arts Therapist, Group Facilitator and Mum of two wonderful kids. I live in the beautiful Dandenong ranges of Melbourne with my husband and young family. As a parent there have been many times where I have wandered if I am doing things right and asked myself and others many questions on the different stages that come with having kids and being a parent. I do know that there can be challenges and frustrations and that will continue but ultimately I love and am continually fascinated watching my kids grow and learn.
I’ve had a long working history in Melbourne’s Community Sector focusing predominately in the areas of homelessness and family violence. I have used my counselling and group skills in a diverse range of roles such as – youth work, mental health outreach, drug and alcohol counselling and family support work. I have also spent an extensive period as a Child and Adolescent Therapist and as a School Counsellor. I have a huge passion for the needs and voices of children’s experiences.
I believe children just like adults can experience stress in their lives where they need the opportunity to have support and share their story. Through my practice I have specialised in working with families, with a particular focus on kids and teens. I am inspired in the work I do and love to companion individuals as they recognise strengths, gain insight and share in their knowledge.I love the outdoors, camping, snowboarding, running, also play netball and coach my daughters team. I love good food and wine, music and regularly meditate, do tapping and love having a good laugh.

CAlmbirth
Melanie Cane:
Melanie is a Childbirth and Early Parenting Specialist. Her passion lies in educating and empowering couples to achieve the best possible birth and early parenting experience.
Melanie, through the journey of becoming a parent herself, realised that many women have lost the confidence to birth, and even mother their babies. Birth has become very reliant upon the medical model, and although our medical practitioners have a very important part to play in making sure we have a healthy mother and baby, it has made women unsure about their natural ability to birth. There is alot of fear around birth and bringing babies into our lives, and Melanie shares her extensive knowledge, so that parents can feel confident and educated about the choices they wish to make. Her confidence in women to birth and mother their babies beautifully is unwavering. Her journey has taken her to qualify as a breastfeeding counsellor (1997), certified doula (2003), registered calmbirth® practitioner (2007) and a childbirth educator (2009) and during that time has become well respected and sought after.
