Kangatraining is Australia’s favourite post natal workout according to the ‘What’s on 4 kids’ awards 2017 and operates Australia wide. Health is both mental and physical and Kangatraining assists with both of these as it allows us time to bond with our babies whilst brining movement back into our post natal lives.
Kangatraining is a dance based choreographed workout that is perfect for mothers to socialise, exercise without the need to find a babysitter and enjoy all the health benefits without going to the gym!
Whether you want to get back into shape post pregnancy, have a laugh with friends, or just get out of the house, you can enjoy a safe, full body workout with a qualified trainer, while your baby relaxes and enjoys being close to you. Our trainers take you through a specifically designed program that focuses on re-strengthening your pelvic floor and abdominal muscles, as well as the correct posture while carrying your baby.
When can I commence classes?
You can begin Kangatraining once you have been given the “all clear” from your health professional to start exercising. You must be at least 6 weeks post-partum after a vaginal birth or 12 weeks pp after a c-section. Our trainers will ask you to complete a health questionnaire to highlight any concerns so that they may modify the exercises in the workout for you.
Is there an age limit for babies?
There is no age limit as long as you can wear your baby comfortably and safely. Our carriers can safely hold babies from 3.5kg to 20kgs. Older children may want to dance along with us, or they are welcome to play in a designated area in the room.
Is my baby carrier suitable and what if I don’t have one?
Not all baby carriers are suitable for exercise; you are welcome to bring your carrier which our trainers will assess as to its suitability for the class. We will also assist you in getting the best fit and comfort for you and your baby. There will be demo carriers available at each class to try out or rent for free on an ongoing basis. Our carriers can hold up to 20kgs. Come along and give it a go!

Introducing Kangatraining Kids - our fun new exercise class designed for you to do with your child.
Our kids programme is designed to nurture a child’s natural creativity and curiosity through fun games and adventure, building on fundamental skills to encourage a healthy relationship with movement and fitness.
Our Tiny class is aimed at 18months to 3 year old but is flexible according to your child’s needs and includes parent/carer participation.
Our Midi class is for 3 to 5 year old without parent/carer participation. (Coming soon)
