Suzzanne is a fully registered generalist Psychologist and has been working in private practice since 2003. She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA), a full-member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and is registered with Medicare Australia.
She adopts a person-centered approach to treatment and strongly maintains that the development of a respectful and trusting therapeutic alliance is essential in achieving best mental health outcomes. Suzzanne incorporates a range of evidence-based treatment approaches, all matched to specific client need and undertaken within the Medicare Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) model. Longer-term therapy is also available, and can be undertaken if it is required. Suzzanne works with adults to assist in the development of personalised strategies and effective solutions in an objective, approachable, patient and respectful manner.
If you are referred to Ms Suzzanne Batson under a Mental Health Care Plan by your General Practitioner (GP) or specialist, you will be entitled to a rebate for your session (up to 10 sessions per calendar year). Counselling services may also be accessed without a referral and in this case, you may be entitled to claim some of the expense via a private health fund. Particular entitlements should be investigated directly with the health fund, as this will vary depending on the health fund you are registered with.
